South Africa's Wildlife Preservation

If you're a nature-lover like we are, then you'll know that rhinos are facing extinction.

And although there's devastating stories to share on rhino poachings, I wanted to keep this story light-hearted and feel-goodish (if that's a word)!

A few years ago, I had the privilege of visiting a rhino rehabilitation camp in South Africa, who's location I'm unable to disclose for security reasons.

It was here that I was able to gain a glimpse of these majestic prehistoric-looking creatures.

There were around 12 rhinos that had been rescued and rehabilitated, most of which were still babies that were still being bottle-fed. Although they were placed in different camps on the reserve, depending on their rehabilitation stage, we were able to visit one camp and bottle feed the most adorable babies whilst the rangers were talking us through their rehabilitation processes.

It was the most incredible experience to be apart of, and made me wonder how anyone would want to harm these spectacular creatures.

South Africa is well-known for its nature reserves and bush-holiday experiences, some of which you may find rhino spottings, amongst other Big 5 animals. I highly recommend visiting one of South Africa's game reserves when travelling to our beautiful country, as it truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
